Jardin Mental is a customizable journal that allows you to enter all the necessary information to evaluate your mental health, track its progression, and understand what influences it. It can be used autonomously to learn more about yourself, but primarily serves as a tool to share with your healthcare professional to optimize your care by assisting in improving your mental health and managing your psychological conditions or distress.
Through a daily questionnaire that prompts you to assess personalized indicators of your mental health (symptoms, feelings, behavior, or thoughts), record significant events of your day, and log medication intake, you will no longer overlook any crucial information to discuss during consultations with the participants in your mental health care journey (psychiatrist, psychologist, psychotherapist, nurse, peer supporter, specialized educator, etc.).
Jardin Mental is completely free, anonymous, and no personal information is required for use. No one can access the data you input into the application; it is solely stored on your phone (and therefore not saved elsewhere). You have the discretion to decide whether to share this data with a healthcare professional during your consultation or send it directly via email through the application.
Jardin Mental is continuously developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and peer supporters) as well as application users. To enhance our service in line with your expectations, please feel free to send us your suggestions at [email protected] or through the "Contribute to the application" button within the app. Provide your contact details for our team to reach out and fully engage with your user experience.
In "My Entries," you will find your daily questionnaire where you can monitor indicators such as anxiety, distress, mood, stress, melancholy, sadness, motivation, sleep quality, libido, insomnia or behaviors. You can also input medication intake, including antidepressants from a premade list or customize it if it's not a commonly prescribed drug.
With personal notes, log all events and thoughts from your day. Besides being a personal journal, this practice can help identify if specific events affect your well-being negatively. If not, regular entries of personal notes can reveal other subtle yet impactful causes affecting your well-being (low mood, anxiety crisis, panic attacks).
Jardin Mental also offers an exercise (Beck's columns), commonly used in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). This exercise helps analyze automatic thoughts (or dysfunctional thoughts), understand their origins and repercussions, facilitating thought restructuring. It's advised to discuss this exercise during a session with your therapist.
Jardin Mental is a support tool in your recovery journey. However, it does not replace a consultation; it cannot provide medical diagnosis (mood disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia) or establish direct contact with a healthcare professional. In cases of psychiatric emergencies (especially suicidal thoughts), please contact emergency services or assistance lines listed in the application under the "Talk to Someone" section in the menu.
